Learning to read, not a spelling list? Phonics worksheets sort your child’s words by sound: digraphs, magic e and trigraphs, with an answer page.
Teaching a class? Send families one link that brings each week’s words into the game, with these sheets and a letter to print.

What prints

Practice pages, a home test, and the game in the corner

  • Practice pages

Four words a page. Each word is shown large, traced along a dotted line, then written four times on the three-line rule children use at school. More than 450 everyday words get a grey picture to colour in.

  • A home test

Numbered lines for your child, and a page for you with the same words in a new order to read aloud and tick. Give it the evening before the school test.

  • The game in the corner

Scan the QR code with a phone and the same words open in our free vocabulary game, where your child meets each one before test day. Nothing to install.

Ready-made

Grade 1: short a and short e

Ten words — cat, hat, map, bag, cap, pen, hen, bed, red, ten — on five pages: read, trace and write, choose the word in ten sentences, a home spelling test, and answers for adults.

Phonics

Phonics worksheets: digraphs, magic e, trigraphs

Type the words your child is learning, or press a ready-made set, and print “missions” — circle the sound team, fix the word, sort, find the magic e — plus a separate answer page for you. Words with a picture in our library get it; the rest stay on the page.

Questions parents ask

Is the worksheet generator free?

Yes. There is nothing to pay, no sign-up and no e-mail address to give. You print as many sheets as you like.

Is my spelling list sent anywhere?

No. The sheets are made in your browser. The list is kept on this device only, so it is still there next time. The QR code carries the list inside its own link.

Can I add translations?

Yes. Write a word and its translation on one line, like “apple - manzana”. The translation is printed under the word’s picture and on the parent’s page of the home test.

Which paper does it print on?

A4 or US Letter, printed at 100%. The practice pages lie sideways on the paper, so every browser prints them the same way.

How the whole week before a spelling test works — the list in the game, the colours, these sheets and the home test: spelling test prep, step by step. Or start in the game: paste the list there, and print the same sheets from its parents’ page.
